Hubert Sumlin one of the greats of the blues died on Sunday December 4th, 2011 at the age of 80 years. Hubert, with his partner Howlin' Wolf, is as responsible as anyone for creating the electric blues vocabulary that we know and love today.

Jimi Hendrix of course, re-introduced himself in America at the Monterey Pop Festival by playing a wicked version of Killing Floor.

RIP Hubert Sumlin. And thank you for all the beautiful music you left for us.

I don't play the guitar very good, but when I'm playing this kind of music, I always have him in my mind.

I wish I could play like Hubert.
